Article 17: Andrea Tóth

Andrea Tóth, the Legal Officer of the International Copyright Law Unit of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office held an impressive presentation about the Article 17 directive for uson the Budapest Showcase Hub.

The directive has the aim to get rid of or at least easen the issues around the royalties and streaming revenues. This directive had been accepted by the European Parliament in this June, and it has to be implemented by all EU member country by June 2021. Andrea’s presentation was very promising about the current state, they are actually counting on the voice and questions of the independent labels, they are open for any claims and questions, they want to base their work on an open discussion to get the best out of the new law.
We will represent all the indie labels interests in these discussions.
